MERRY CHRISTMAS
and
A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Kindest regards from
Kenneth, Susann, Timmy and Kevin Hansen
Sonia is our dear godchild. She lives in a SOS-children village in the North of India. Here she gets a safe place to live and are able to grow up under good conditions. She goes to school and meets fiends. As a girl school is the most important part that can decided her otherwise more limited possibilities in the future. We think that the money we spend on Christmas cards shall instead go to Sonia and her continuing studies.
So, we wish You a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

A passionate weekend of motor sport with TOTAL.
Some weeks ago Kenneth was invited by TOTAL to a very special weekend celebrating their long-time commitment to motor sport. A lot of driver both of today and yesterday were present, Sebastian Loeb, Giancarlo Fisichella, Marcus Grönholm, Jacky Ickx, Jacques Lafitte, René Arnoux, Eric Comas, Jean Ragnotti, Pierre Lartigue, Jean-Luc Pailler, Patrick Tambay etc.
- It was a fantastic weekend, meeting all those legends that I have admired since I can remember, Kenneth says.
The agenda started on Friday with a visit to a Total-Fina-Elf factory in Pau. In the evening it was dinner and a motor sport quiz. On Saturday the guests were taken to a racing circuit and introduced to Formula Renaults. After only two laps if practice, Kenneth lined up on the grid for a race between all the invited drivers.
Somewhat expected it was Giancarlo Fisichella who won the race. Kenneth finished 9:th out of 15.
- It was difficult to begin with, but after some laps I began to feel more relaxed and could enjoy the experience more, Kenneth remembers his first taste of "real" formula cars.

Photo: Total
An off Kenneth goes, joining the other drivers on the circuit.
- Only if I can beat Fisichella I will be happy, Kenneth says with a big smile, as he exit the pits in a Formula-car for the first time.

International race between Sweden and Finland.
The Finish top-level drivers has challenged the Swedish elite of rally- and racing drivers in an international race between the two countries. And the Swedes were not late to accept, so this summer the event will take place in Stockholm, most likely on Solvalla.
Kimi Räikkönen, Marcus Grönholm and the other Finish top-level drivers challenges the Swedish motor sport stars, both of today, yesterday and of tomorrow. This is what the Finns are writing in the DVD sent to the Swedish ASN: "- As you never get the chance to race real drivers. So if you are not to busy, or afraid, give us a call..."
The call is already done, and in July the first race between Sweden and Finland will take place in Stockholm. The Swedish drivers who has accepted the challenge is all the SMSC-drivers in both rally and racing. Besides these names like Kenneth Hansen, Rickard Rydell and Tony Rickardsson are on the list. And the Finish motor sport association, AKK, will send their best drivers, who both is and has been Champions.
Both racing- and rally-cars will be used, and the idea is to alter the race between Sweden and Finland. In 2006 Sweden will be the organiser and the year after it will be in Finland.

Kenneth Hansen on second place in Rallycross SuperPrix
The Irishman Christopher Evans was too difficult for the newly crowned European Champion Kenneth Hansen, who finished on second place in the last race of the season – the Rallycross Super Prix.
- I gave him a really good fight in the final, Kenneth says. I have been second to Evans during the whole qualifying, but now in the final we had found a perfect set-up for the Citroen and I felt I was able to beat him this time. And it was close. When I decided to try to overtake I drifted a little too wide and lost precious metre.
In the final Evans took the lead immediately from pole position. Kenneth, who started third on the grid, first had to fight his old Xsara, with John McCluskey at the steering wheel, into the first corner.
Evans and Hansen pulled away and they had a great fight the first couple of laps. When Kenneth missed the overtaking McCluskey and the Dutch driver Jos Kuypers was right behind him. Unfortunately McCluskey got hit by Kuypers and he spun off. Jos was then the last one onto the podium. Hansen caught Evans again but there was no time for any more attacks before the checked flag was waved.
- Croft Circuit is significant faster than the circuits we are used to on the European Championship, Kenneth explains. But it is nice with a bit of change and this has been a good race to end the season with.

ERC Round 10
Germany, Buxtehude. October 1-2 2005
Kenneth Hansen made it and took a new ERC-title.
It was the "never-give-up" mentality of Kenneth that gave him yet another ERC-title. Kenneth finish second in the A-final after Sverre Isachsen, while title rival Michael Jernberg ended his chances in the rail. Hansen managed to turn the problems in the first qualification on Saturday and came back to take a place on the start grid of the A-final thanks to a calm and consistent work during the day.
- I’m so, so happy, Kenneth laughs. It feels almost unreal. Clearly one of the best ERC-gold considering the hard and even season between me and Jernberg.
Michael Jernberg started on second position and was the title favourite as Kenneth wasn’t better than fourth into the A-final. Hansen did a brave move into the first corner. He had a perfect start and instead of heading into the mess on the inside he choose to take a risk and go for it on the outside. Kenneth was equal with the leading Isachsen, got pushed wide and went out into the gravel trap, but managed somehow to come back on third place behind Jernberg. Only half a lap later Micke makes a devastating mistake and crashes into the rail and is forced to retire. In that situation the title fight was over in favour for Kenneth, who now only had to make it to the finish. Eager to make a good result as well Kenneth was pushing to keep up with Sverre. The heart almost stopped when Kenneth suddenly hits the iron rail as he gets the sun in his eyes. Lasse Larsson gets up just behind Kenneth and is trying to overtake. Kenneth calmed down after the impact and took his Citroen Xsara to second place and a new European Championship title.
- Tonight we shall take a nice bottle of Champagne and really enjoy the moment, Kenneth says. The whole team has worked so hard especially in the most difficult periods during the season. Now the title is finally ours and we are so happy.

Preview ERC Round 10 in Germany
Hansen and Jernberg fighting for the title
On Sunday we will know. How will be the European Rallycross Champion?
Kenneth Hansen or Mikael Jernberg?
It will be an exiting final round of the Championship in Germany, where the season now will come to an end. With only a three point difference the battle for the gold medal is still wide open. It can be the first ERC-title for Jernberg or the thirteenth for Hansen.
They are both in eager expectations. Mikael was second last year, but never close enough to challenge Kenneth for real. Now, with the laurel wreath in an arms length, he is surely hungrier than ever. Hansen, on the other side, is an amazing racer, never giving up and at his best when it comes to the point. And now it is at the point.
- I have been in similar situations before through the years, Kenneth says and ponders. The only thing I can do at the moment is to focus on myself and the car. We have to find the perfect balance and just go for it. Is Micke still ahead of us it is only to congratulate him. But he will not get it that easy. If he is in front of he I’ll make sure he knows he is alive.
During the last week the teams has moved from Poland to the circuit in Buxtehude, close to Hamburg. The cars in division 1, such as the ones of Hansen and Jernberg, are not very standard. Four wheel drive, 520 bhp in turbocharged engines making 0-100 km/h in incredible 2,5 seconds. These cars need a lot of care and attention. It takes the mechanics hours and hours to get the cars in shape again after a race. And everyone wants to be in shape to make their final impression with a victory. And do not forget the other drivers in the middle of the title fight between Hansen and Jernberg. Per Eklund has never been a careful driver before. Neither has the new Swedish Champion Lars Larsson. The Norwegian Morten Bermingrud, who won the last race, is in the flow right now. And do not forget the Frenchman Jean-Luc Pailler, the Czech Pavel Koutny or the Dutch Jos Kuypers.
On Sunday evening we will know. How is the Champion, Hansen or Jernberg?

ERC Round 9
Poland, Slomczyn. September 24-25 2005
Kenneth leads the overall standings after third place in Poland.
It was a highly dramatic and close A-final at Slomczyn circuit. Kenneth managed to turn the situation and is now leading the Championship with three points as only the final round remains, which takes place in Germany next weekend.
Kenneth finished on the podium after his toughest concurrent for the Championship-title, Mikael Jernberg, had been black flagged for overtaking Kenneth on the inside of the track.
It was Kenneth's Citroen-colleague, Morten Bermingrud, how did a brilliant drive in the A-final and defended the Citroen colours. After an intelligent and well controlled race he went on to take his first victory of the year.
Jean-Luc Pailler had his hands full on keeping up with the pace of Bermingrud and at the same time try to keep Hansen behind him.
Kenneth did his best to try to overtake Pailler, but knew at the same time that he had to be careful not to touch him as a disqualification would have been a disaster for the Championship. So when Jernberg had squeezed himself ahead of Hansen in a less appropriate way and was black flagged for it, Kenneth just backed off to make sure he would make it to the finish line and get his podium place.
The man on pole position, Lars Larsson, was forced to retire due to technical reasons, just as he had managed to take the lead after only two corners. Per Eklund finally found some speed at the end of the race and finished on fourth place in the A-final.
Kenneth leads the ERC-standings with 133 points. Jernberg is second on 130 and Sverre Isachsen third on 107.

SRC Round 4
Götene, Kinnekulle Ring. September 11 2005
Kenneth Hansen took the bronze medal in the Swedish Championship
After a strong performance by Kenneth Hansen he finished on second place in the A-final when the Swedish Rallycross Championship was settled on Kinnekulle Ring. With a fantastic drive in the last race Kenneth managed to fight back after a problematic day and was a hairbreadth from victory.
- The car and the driving felt good in the final. During the qualification rounds we had more difficulties in getting the right feeling, Kenneth sums up the day. We have tested different parts and in the A-final the car was really great.
Kenneth, who this year mainly has been concentrating on the European Championship, managed to take the bronze medal in the Swedish Championship after his fine second place on Kinnekulle. Kenneth won the opening round of the SRC in Arvika, desisted from the SRC-round in Kalix and was on fourth place in Strängnäs. Before the final round of the SRC Kenneth was on fifth place and did not have any major hopes of a medal. In the race on Kinnekulle he focused first on trying to win the event and to find some good answers for the lack of power on the engine side, considering the two all important ERC-races coming up next.
Lasse Larsson managed to meet all expectations and took the SRC-gold after victory in the A-final. Per Eklund was leading before the race today, but wasn't able to match the speed of the top duo. Per Eklund finished on third place and got the silver medal in the Championship.
Lasse was more or less leading from start to finish, except in the first corner where Kenneth actually was slightly ahead of Larsson. The two had a brilliant fight and when Kenneth choose the joker lap with one lap to go he gained on Larsson and into the last corner they were almost side by side. Larsson was the one with the best line and he won.
Marko Jokinen did his best drive of the year and was a very happy for his fourth place. When two laps remained flames was visible under the bonnet of Jokinen, but he had no plans of giving up that easily. K-G Lindkvist was fifth and Mikael Jernberg sixth as he was forced to retire.
Kinnekulle had a lovely sunny rallycross day with over 7.000 spectators.

ERC Round 8
Holland, Valkenswaard. August 20-21 2005
Kenneth Hansen on third place in Holland
Kenneth Hansen was ”only” third in the Dutch round of the European Rallycross Championship and therefore he lost his Championship lead with one point to Michael Jernberg, who finished second today.
It was a close fight between the top-trio in the A-final, where Sverre Isachsen, who started on pole position also, was the one to finally take the victory. During the whole final both Jernberg and Hansen was right on the tail of Isachsen. Michael, who realized that second place would give him important points, was careful and did not make many moves on the leader, and concentrated mostly on closing the door for Hansen, eager to find a way to overtake.
- It was impossible to pass Jernberg, Kenneth says. And I didn’t want to attack harder as it might have ended with us both going off the circuit.
Lasse Larsson came in on fourth place in the A-final after a strong performance this weekend. Jos Kuypers finished fifth and Jean-Luc Pailler had to settle for sixth as he had technical problems.
What yesterday started with a fire in the engine compartment for Kenneth during the free practice ended despite all rather well with the third place. The team had to work hard to repair the damages of the fire, but managed to have the Citroen ready for the obligatory official timed practice. Kenneth won the first his first heat, but due to rain just when he went out on the track, the time wasn’t good enough for more than eleventh place. Thanks to a second and fourth place in the last two qualification rounds Kenneth made it to the A-final.
- Of course it is disappointing to loose the overall lead, but I do not give up easily, Kenneth stresses firmly. There are two more rounds, Poland and Germany, and not until after that we can say what the outcome will be. I have been under pressure before and actually that inspire me even more.
Michael Jernberg leads the ERC on 119 points to Hansen’s 118. The winner today, Isachsen is on third place with 97 points.
Next round of the European Championship is in Poland on September 24-25 and the final round is in Germany the weekend after, October 1-2.

ERC Round 7
Belgium, Maasmechelen. August 13-14 2005
Kenneth Hansen third after a tough race in Belgium
Kenneth Hansen had to raise all his mental strength and routine when he finally managed to make it up to a third place in the A-final in Belgium, on the seventh round of the European Rallycross Championship.
From the second last position in the A-final Hansen was quickest off the start line and after a smart manoeuvre in the first corners he took third place. He caught the leading duo, with Mikael Jernberg leading the way for Jean-Luc Pailler, but chose to back off as the windscreen was covered with muddy water from the rain soaking track. Mikael Jernberg did not have any major problems taking the victory as the Frenchman wasn’t able to make any serious overtaking attempts.
- Considering the circumstances this weekend I have to be rather satisfied with the outcome, Kenneth says. It could have ended worse.
The tough ERC weekend began with a lumbago for Kenneth already when the team arrived to the circuit. A hard crash into the concrete wall in the first qualification round smashed all chances for good starting positions during the remaining two rounds. From the outside and in early heats Kenneth had difficulties getting the top results and the track got drier later in the qualification favouring the ones starting later in the session.
- It has been tough, but the Hansen’s are stubborn team and never give up, Kenneth reminds us.
Another stubborn Swede, Per Eklund, managed to go from C-final to the A-final, but first after the Belgian Chris Van Woensel got disqualified for overtaking Eklund in the B-final under a yellow flag situation. Eklund finished fourth followed by the Norwegian Guttorm Lindefjell and the Dutch Jos Kuypers.
Kenneth still leads the overall standings, but now only with one point ahead of Mikael Jernberg, 103 points to 102.
The next round of the Championship is up next weekend on Valkenswaard circuit in Holland.

Preview ERC Round 7, Belgium
Kenneth prepared for the ERC rounds in Belgium and Holland.
- We had a good "test" when we did the SRC in Strangnas last week, Kenneth says. Even if the A-final was not the best with a fourth place, I had a good feeling and good confidence for the coming ERC-races.
The A-final in Strangnas was a real thrill. Kenneth climbed from third place after the start to first place. But just as he overtook the lead, after Lasse Larsson had been in the jokerlap, Kenneth was pushed off the track by Larsson. Larsson was disqualified.
- Not a very intelligent move, Kenneth says. The one it hurt most was himself as I do not compete for the Swedish Championship title.
The team travels to Belgium shortly.

ERC Round 6
Sweden, Höljes. July 2-3 2005
Kenneth Hansen crashed in the A-final
Kenneth Hansen had victory in sight with his Citroen when the Swedish round of the European Championship took place. Unfortunately it all ended with a crash in the fight for the lead. After two victories in the qualifying Kenneth started on pole position in the A-final. A slightly late reaction by Hansen made him lose the lead to Michael Jernberg as they stormed towards the first corner.
- I felt I was quicker when I was behind Jernberg and I was not going to give up that easily, Kenneth says. A victory is always a victory and even sweeter on home ground. So a pushed hard over the crest and had striking angle on Micke, but at the same time he must have slowed down or braked suddenly because I hit the rear of the Ford hard. The front of my car was a total mess and some turbo hoses were damaged so that I lost the power in my engine. Well, well, those things happen in close fight in the racing world.
Kenneth was forced to retire in the final and got sixth place. Michael Jernberg could continue without problems after Kenneth was gone to take the victory. Morten Bermingrud, in the other Citroen, was closing in on Jernberg but never caught him and he finished second. Per Eklund, who had lived a silent life in the qualification rounds when he was not quite up to the fastest lap times, now came through to take a fine third place.
Guttorm Lindefjell won the B-final and climbed up a couple of more steps in the A-final and was fourth overall. Lasse Larsson came in on fifth place with technical problems in his Skoda.
Kenneth is still leading the standings in the European Championship (88 points), but now only six points ahead of Michael Jernberg (82 p.) Larsson advanced to third place as the winner of the Norwegian round, Sverre Isachsen, failed already in the C-final.
Now the ERC will make a short summer brake before it all starts in August again with the Belgian round.

ERC Round 5
Norway, Momarken. June 25-26 2005
Kenneth Hansen on second place in Norway
Kenneth Hansen started in pole position in the A-final in the Norwegian round of the ERC, but finished on second place. Already in the start Hansen was forced to give up as Sverre Isachsen did a perfect start and was in command as they entered the first corner.
- I didn’t stand a chance in the start, Kenneth says. Sverre managed to make one good start this weekend and that was in the final. I chased his as much as I could, but there were no obvious places for overtaking on this narrow circuit.
You could see on the driving of Sverre that he was rather nervous with a red Citroen covering all his mirrors at the same time. He protected his inside carefully not to give Hansen any opportunity. Kenneth was just on the rear bumper of the Norwegian, but at the same time Kenneth had difficulties with the visibility as a lot of dust came into the car when he was so close.
If Sverre did a good start then Morten Bermingrud did an even better one. From the last start position in the A-final he came like a rocket and was up alongside Kenneth and Sverre and challenged them for the lead. After a brave manoeuvre he managed from his outside line to squeeze in to third place. Lars Larsson gave him a fight, but he finished on his fourth place anyway. Mikael Jernberg was fifth and Karl-Gunnar Lindqvist sixth.
Hansen’s second place gave important points which made him win the first half of the ERC with 77 points. Isachsen advanced to second place overall, after the victory today, with 65 p. Lars Larsson is third on 64.
Next weekend the second half of the European Championship begins with the Swedish round in Höljes. A big rallycross event for a lot of motor sport fans in Scandinavia.

ERC Round 4
The Czech Republic, Sosnova- Ceska Lipa
Kenneth Hansen retired in the Czech Republic
The series of victories, four out of four races, for Kenneth Hansen was broken when the reigning European Rallycross Champion had problems in the ERC round in the Czech Republic. The race ended when Kenneth was forced to retire after a start crash in the B-final.
- Most things went wrong this weekend, Kenneth sighs disappointed. It all started with a mistake by me in the timed practice and I dropped in the results. After that I had difficulties getting though in the qualification heats and in the B-final I had to give up when a turbo hose was damaged.
Kenneth started on third place in the B-final after the miserable qualifying rounds. In the start Kenneth was second into the first corner, but was hit hard in the rear and bumped into the leading Guttorm Lindefjell, damaging the front. Kenneth felt immediately that the power in the engine disappeared in his Citroen Xsara and after a couple of laps he chose to retire.
The A-final was won by Mikael Jernberg ahead of Lars Larsson and Pavel Koutny on third.
Kenneth is still leading the overall standings of the ERC with 67 points in front of Mikael Jernberg on 61 points.

Kenneth Hansens segersvit bröts i Tjeckien

ERC Round 3
Austria, Greinbach. June 4-5 2005.
Third ERC-victory in a row by Kenneth Hansen in Austria
They did it again! Kenneth Hansen and Citroën took their third ERC-victory in a row in the third round of the Championship in Austria.
- Fantastic! I had a nice feeling the whole weekend, Kenneth smiles. We found a balanced set-up straight away and after that it was more up to me to do something good of it.
Kenneth had pole position in the A-final after the three qualification heats. He made a perfect start and had no major problems to take the lead into the first corner. Especially not when Lasse Larsson and Mikael Jernberg had a close fight on who would get second place behind Hansen. It was Larsson who was the strongest this time and could go on chasing Kenneth.
- The gravel parts on the circuit was rather bad after a heavy thunderstorm earlier in the day, so on those sections one had to be very careful not to drive to hard, Kenneth explains. I think I had it pretty much under control during the final and knew that with out any mistakes by myself I could do it.
Lars Larsson did a fine race and was at times closing in on his leading compatriot. Behind Larsson the Norwegian Sverre Isachsen managed to overtake Mikael Jernberg for third place. Guttorm Lindefjell finished on fourth place with Morten Bermingrud right behind him. Mikael Jernberg was forced to retire with a broken gearbox.
Kenneth is leading the overall standings on maximum 60 points. Sverre has 45 points and Mikael 41.
Now the drivers in the European Championship will need to quickly reload their mental batteries as it is time for the next round of the series at Sosnova Autodrom in the Czech Republic already next weekend.

Strong performance in Austria gave Kenneth and Citroen a new victory.
They did it again! Third European Championship victory out of three races for Kenneth and Citroen.
- I felt confident all weekend, Kenneth says with a big smile. I quickly found a good set-up on the car and then it was up to me to do something good of it.
Kenneth had pole position in the A-final after the thee qualification rounds. He did a perfect start and could take the lead into the first corner while Lars Larsson and Michael Jernberg were fighting hard for second place. It was Larsson who was the strongest of the two and could start chasing the leading Hansen. Once in control Kenneth had a steady ride to the finish line and kept Larsson out of striking range. Michael Jernberg lost third place to the Norwegian driver Sverre Isachsen. Guttorm Lindefjell followed on fourth place and Morten Bermingrud fifth. Michael Jernberg retired with broken gearbox.

SRC Round 1
Arvika. May 29 2005
Kenneth Hansen won the first round of Swedish Championship in Arvika.
Kenneth did a great and steady job in the A-final and took the victory in the first round of the Swedish Championship.
It was Lasse Larsson who had pole position and who also was the leader as the six driver came out of the first corner. Kenneth had a fine start and from his second grid position he was alongside Larsson on the start straight. But being on the outside Kenneth had to turn in behind Larsson.
After one and a half lap the transmission broke down on the Skoda and Kenneth could take his Citroen into the lead.
- My only thought at that time was to be careful of not doing any driving mistakes or forget the joker lap, Kenneth says. Therefore I was early to take the joker and in that moment K-G Lindkvist in his Volvo was first for a while. On the last lap I was back in the front and it was a wonderful feeling to win here. K-G Lindqvist did his best ever race in division one. He proved that they had done a good job on the car during the winter and will be a top contender in the series this year.
Mikael Jernberg was third after Per Eklund had been disqualified for overtaking in a bad way. Tommy Kristoffersson, who did a temporary come back in rallycross in the Citroen Xsara of Morten Bermingrud, was fourth after showing his impressive driving skills.

Kenneth Hansen took 20 new points in Portugal
Kenneth Hansen followed up the European Rallycross Championship victory last weekend in France with a new maximum score in Portugal today.
The podium was all blue and yellow as Hansen’s countrymen Lars Larsson and Mikael Jernberg finished on second and third place.
- It feels fantastic, Kenneth smiles and gets tossed in the air by the mechanics. I pushed to the limit the first couple of laps and managed to pull away from Larsson. After that I could instead focus on not making any mistakes and to take my Citroen nice and clean to the finish line.
Behind Hansen Larsson was in trouble when Jernberg caught up with him and wanted to overtake. Even if Jernberg eagerly knocked on the door Larsson was not stressed and could hold him behind. There was also a very tight race for fourth place between the two Norwegians who reached the A-final, Sverre Isachsen and Morten Bermingrud. The Belgian driver Patrick Van Mechelen came in on sixth place.
- The biggest worries for me today was that my starts did not feel as perfect in the qualification rounds as they normally do and then with the rain in the air making the tyre choice a night mare, Kenneth says. Well now we made it through and it helps when you have the long boring road all the way back to the other end of Europe.
Per Eklund did not manage to get to the A-final this time either and was left as second behind Isachsen in the B-final.
The ERC now takes a break for some weeks before the next race on June 4-5 in Austria.
Before that happens the Swedish stars will do the first round of the Swedish Rallycross Championship in Arvika on May 28-29.

ERC Round 1
France, Alencon. May 7-8 2005
Kenneth Hansen winner of the first ERC in France
Alencon,
Kenneth Hansen opened the ERC-season in the best way possible by winning the French round.
Hansen started in pole position in the A-final and was leading it from the first corner to the finish line.
But, it was with great difficulty he managed to do it. After half the race a flat tyre made life rather unpleasant for the reigning champion.
- I’m really happy to take this victory, Kenneth cheers and continue. I had problems holding the car on some parts and when the others were fighting behind me it gave me a bit of breath so I could take the car home to the finish line.
Kenneth, who had built up a good lead on the opening laps, lost it all when the damaged tyre slowed him down more and more. When the others caught Hansen again he had to take quite a few punches.
But with routine as his strongest weapon Kenneth slowed down in the most vulnerable corners and managed to stay on the track and gained victory.
The Norwegian Sverre Isachsen came in on second place followed by his fellow country man Guttorm Lindefjell. In the scrutineering Guttorm was disqualified for technical reasons and placed last in the A-final. Instead it was the second Swede, Mikael Jernberg, who was classified as on third place. Laurent Terroitin from France was fourth and the Czech driver Pavel Koutny fifth.
It was a very close first round of the European Championship we could see in Alencon. The 12 front drivers were all within one second per lap. Kenneth met hard competition already in the first qualification and was third after Mikael Jernberg who was fastest. In the second qualification Hansen was beaten to second place by the Frenchman Terroitin. But then in the third qualifying Hansen finally took the top position and the best place on the grid in the A-final.
- It has been a tough weekend, Kenneth says. The winter holiday is over, I can promise.
Next weekend is the second round of the ERC in Portugal.

Kenneth Hansen ready to face a new rallycross season
With only one week until the opening round of the European Rallycross Championship the Swedish top teams gathered on Westom circuit in Arvika for shake down and press conference.
Kenneth Hansen, the reining European Champion, was there with his updated Citroën Xsara and with high ambitions.
- To defend the ERC-title is the most important to me, Kenneth says, and therefore we will focus our efforts on those 10 rounds of the European Championship. It is also the ERC that personally gives me the most satisfaction as it is the biggest challenge.
Kenneth has chosen not to do the complete Swedish Rallycross Championship this year. He will do two rounds, the opening one in Arvika and the final in Götene.
- At first we planned only to do the SRC-final as it is just around the corner from our home, Kenneth explains. But after Per Andersson and the event company Crew took charge of both the shake down and the first race of the series they have shown an amazing commitment. As they approach rallycross in a new modern way I will not miss the chance to be part of it.
For the Arvika race Kenneth will meet an old acquaintance on the track again. Tommy Kristoffersson is going to rent the Citroen Xsara of Morten Bermingrud and make a come back for one race.
Mikael Jernberg, Lars Larsson, Thomas Rådström, K-G Lindkvist, Andreas Eriksson and the not totally unknown Per Eklund are some other hot Swedish names that are eager to challenge Kenneth for the title. Every one wants to win and every one has the capacity to do it, so prepare for one of the best rallycross seasons ever.
Kenneth and his team has during the long dark winter months spent many hours with the Citroen Xsara, that last year gave them a ERC-gold. She has several new technical improvements under the shell and a couple of races into the season the new WRC*-engine will purr under the bonnet.
- Never get satisfied, always keep on working in a constant aspiration to be better, is the most important thing, Kenneth says, as we are facing a tough season in tough competition.
On May 7-8 is the first round of the ERC in the home country of Citroën, France. In one month, May 28-29 it’s time for the first round of the SRC in Arvika.
