Hansen-history
Kenneth lives in the small town Götene in Sweden together with his wife Susann and their two sons, Timmy and Kevin.
Kenneth's interest in motorsport didn't begin until the age of 14. He then started with karting on a circuit close to his home.
From karting he went to stockcar racing and rallying for some years. In 1983 he started with rallycross. It's also in this discipline he has been most successful.
After six golden seasons in the small category Kenneth took the challenge of the super-cars in a Citroen ZX in 1993. He won his first ever race in this class but he lost the title that year with only one point to his former Citroen-colleague Jean-Luc Pailler from France.
Rallycross suits Kenneth perfect as it takes a fast mind, ingenuity and mental strength to cope with this intensive sport.
In his spare time Kenneth likes to play floor ball and spend some hours on his enduro motorbike. To relax Kenneth goes to the movies or goes fishing with his sons.
Since 1993 Kenneth has went on to become the FIA European Champion in the Super Car category, division 1, by clinching the title in 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2001,2002,2003, 2004, 2005 and 2008.
He has 7 second places and one third place in the ERC in the years he didn't win, which are 1993, -95, -97, -99, 2006,
-07 and -09.
The number of gold medals in the Swedish Rallycross Championship are 10 now. The first title came in 1986 in the national championship with a Volvo Amazon and in 2002 he took the 10:th one.
2007 was a very special year as Kenneth and Citroen celebrated 15 years together!
The title in 2008 was very special for Kenneth and his team as they came back on the throne again, showing that despite two years with secondplaces they still was able to win.

This is what is feels like when you just have won the FIA European Championship 2005 after one of the most thrilling seasons ever.
The title fight between Mikael Jernberg and Kenneth Hansen went done to the last final of the last race of the year in Germany.
Kenneth stayed calm and by a brave manoeuvre in the start of the A-final, he was the one to have the upper hand. Unfortunately Mikael did a mistake and ended his chances in a rail.
When the pressure was off Kenneth could take it "easy" to the finish line. |

The season of 2004 was another really good year for Kenneth and the secured the FIA European Championship title already in August in Holland.
The car was reliable and his confidence high. Kenneth retired for the A-final two times the other eight races he was on the podium. |

|
Six victories and two second places out of ten races in 2003 is a record that is very hard to beat.
The European Championship gold went to Kenneth again for the 11:th time.
Kenneth Hansen showed once again that he is as committed as ever. 2003 was successful, despite loosing the Swedish title. In the European Championship he had both ups and downs. The highlight of the season was the victory on home soil at the race in Holjes. The poorest result was in Poland where he finished 8:th overall. But Kenneth was not to upset about it because he managed to take the few points needed to secure the Championship title. |
|

|
In 2002 the Hansen team was fast, reliable and almost impossible to beat. Six victories, two second places, one third and one fifth during the ten rounds of the European Championship.
The team was the key to this 10:th European Championship title.
In the Swedish Championship Kenneth finally made it again and he took yet another SRC-title. His 10:th!
- The main reason for the success has been the reliability of the Xsara, Kenneth explains. We have had very little problems and could focus more on race strategies |

The 2001 season - 1, 2, 3
This was the most challenging season ever for Kenneth and his team, participating in three championships, they came through with a 1-2-3.
1:st place in the FIA European Rallycross Championship
2:nd place in the French Rallycross Championship
3:rd place in the Swedish-Norwegian Rallycross Championship
Kenneth secured The FIA European Rallycross Championship 2001 at the last round in Germany.
By finishing second it was enough to take the crown.
Ludvig Hunsbedt, who was the hardest competitors for Kenneth, finished third in Germany and second in the Championship after their thrilling fight a the second half of the season.
On the 10 rounds of the ERC Kenneth took at least 4 victories, in France, Portugal, Austria and Sweden.

Back on top! Kenneth took the European Championship in 2000 again after losin git the year before.
Per Eklund was the main rival and their fights became famous.
Mikael Jernberg began to show his face on the podium more often. |
|
 |
This was everything but a good year for Kenneth. In 1999 he lost the ERC-title to Per Eklund.
Kenneth had his revenge by taking the Swedish Rallycross Championship this year, something that isn't as easy as it might sound.
